Terentes.com Update at last

Welcome to Thanos.Terentes.com blog… I finally got round to updating my personal website.

Hopefully my choice of wordpress as the underlying platform for this blog, will help in setting this up as soon as possible and then start dealing with content.

My intentions are to include here anything that comes to my attention in my everyday life. I can easily be considered a computer dependant, internet addicted, coding geek…. but i will deny all of the above!

We’ll see how it goes i guess….

Gartner 2006 Worldwide RDBMS Market Share Reports 47.1% Share for Oracle

Gartner has published their market share numbers by operating system for 2006 based on total software revenues. According to Gartner, Oracle

  • Has 47.1 percent share (up from 46.8 percent in 2005) growing at 14.9 percent
  • Is growing faster than the market average of 14.2 percent with US$7.2 Billions in revenues
  • Continues to hold more market share than its two closest competitors combined

Gartner 2007 Worldwide RDBMS Market Share Reports 48.6% Share for Oracle (*)

Gartner has published their market share numbers by operating system for 2007 based on total software revenues. According to Gartner, Oracle

  • Has 48.6 percent share (up from 47.9 percent in 2006) growing at 14.9 percent
  • Is growing faster than the market average of 13.3 percent with US$8.29 Billions in revenues
  • Continues to hold more market share than its two closest competitors combined

Gartner has published their market share numbers by operating system for 2008 based on total software revenues. According to Gartner, Oracle

  • Continues to be #1 overall with 48.9 per cent share
  • Continues to hold more market share than its six closest competitors combined
  • Continues to be #1 on Linux with 75.8 per cent share
