Lots of news are coming out of Oracle on the application lifecycle management front. Based on the Enterprise Manager platform, Oracle now covers all the application lifecycle stages, making centralized management easier than ever.
Application Testing was rather neglected up until now. But since the Empirix acquisition in 2008, Oracle was in posetion of great testing tool formely known as E-tester. Soon after the acquitition, realising the tools potential, Oracle announced the availability of Oracle Application Testing Suite (ATS). Amongst many improvements ATS delivers an open and integrated scripting platform for both load and functional testing. This is one of the product’s key strengths, as some other competing products require users to set up separate scripts for functional and load tests, creating un-necessary rework. With ATS, Oracle provides tools that cover the complete application lifecycle, from development to test to production management.
Application Testing Suite is a comprehensive, integrated testing solution that ensures the quality, scalability, and availability of your Web applications and Web Services. This integrated, full lifecycle solution enables you to define and manage your application testing process, validate application functionality, and ensure that your applications will perform under load. With Application Testing Suite, you can deploy your Web applications and Web Services in less time while maximizing the efficiency of your testing team.
Application Testing Suite is comprised of the following tightly integrated products:
- Oracle Load Testing for scalability, performance and load testing.
- Oracle Functional Testing for automated functional and regression testing.
- Oracle Test Manager for test process management, including test requirements management, test management, test execution and defect tracking.
Further enabling customers to deliver high-performance, mission-critical applications on time and under budget, the latest Oracle Application Testing Suite 9.0 release delivers the industry’s most complete, open, and integrated application testing solution for Oracle applications, Web, and SOA applications.
